Asamoah Gyan has vowed to deal with an impersonator who claimed he missed the infamous penalty kick as payback to his ex.
This impersonator created a Twitter account in the name of the former skipper of the Black Stars and claimed he deliberately missed the penalty in order to send shock waves to her girlfriend.
According to this faceless Twitter user, Asamoah Gyan kicked the penalty that could potentially send Ghana to the Semi-final stage of the 2010 World Cup to hit the upper post because he wanted to break the heart of his ex.

As mundane and baseless as this claim sounds, the former Sunderland forward has tasked his manager, Sammy Anim to look for and deal with the impersonator who has spread falsehood about him and in effect dragged his reputation into disrepute.
Asamoah Gyan’s infamous penalty miss still remains fresh in the minds of enthusiastic Ghanaians who gathered behind their television sets that very evening when Suarez prevented the ball from entering the net giving Ghana a chance to move to the next level.
The pain and anguish that the Asamoah Gyan penalty miss sent through the feeble hearts of football-loving fans home and abroad was excruciating. The penalty miss has somewhat cast a shadow over Asamoah Gyan’s illustrious footballing career where he helped Ghana qualify for three world cups and several AFCON tournaments…scoring 51 goals and becoming Ghana’s all-time top goalscorer.

However, Asamoah Gyan believes the time is now for him to take hard action against people who still try to take advantage of the unfortunate yet eventful penalty miss to make a mockery of him and to drag his hard-earned reputation into disrepute.
