Ghana international Gladson Awako has disclosed leaving Great Olympics for Hearts of Oak was something difficult for him.

The enterprising midfielder secured a move to the Phobians in the ongoing Ghanaian transfer window following his superlative performance with the Dade boys in the just-ended season.

Awako became a subject of interest for several club both locally and internationally but opted to join the rainbow boys.

Speaking to Joy Sports, he disclosed Great Olympics wanted to keep him at the club but decided to go in for a new challenge.

“I knew from onset its not going to be that easy because of the relationship I had with Olympics and they also felt this is the time they needed me most and because of the way the season went for us last campaign, they felt they have to keep me for us to comeback stronger in the coming season than we did this season”

“So, it wasn’t easy but as a player I needed to move on to have new challenged and all that, so I spoke with the Board Chairman, Oluboi Commodore and the coach, Annor Walker which wasn’t easy but they have to understand that am human and I have to move on”

“They came to understand that this is my work and I need to move on and have a new challenge, so it wasn’t easy” he said.
