Sept. 2 (UPI) — Amazon Prime Video is giving a glimpse of the new series The Wheel of Time.
The streaming service shared a teaser trailer for the fantasy series Thursday featuring Rosamund Pike as Moiraine, a member of the Aes Sedai, a powerful all-female organization of magic users.
The preview shows Moiraine begin a journey with five young people, one of whom she believes is the Dragon Reborn, a person prophesied to either save the world or destroy humanity.
Josha Stradowski co-stars as Rand al’Thor, with Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve al’Meara, Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon, Madeleine Madden as Egwene al’Vere and Daniel Henney as al’Lan Mandragoran. Rafe Judkins serves as showrunner.
The Wheel of Time is based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy book series of the same name. Jordan died at age 58 in 2007.
The Amazon series will premiere Nov. 19.
Amazon Studios renewed The Wheel of Time for Season 2 in May.
