The President of the Federation of People with Disabilities wants President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to appoint the New Patriotic Party’s 2020 parliamentary candidate for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Banasco Seidu Nuhu as the Chief Executive for the district.

To him, Mr. Banasco Seidu Nuhu is a leader with impeccable records of paying special attention to issues of people with disabilities.

Mr. Dramani was speaking at a ceremony for Nasco Feeding Minds, a Non-Governmental Organisation run by Banasco, to donate mobility equipment to persons with disabilities in Sawla.

Mr. Dramani enumerated the many times Mr. Banasco and his NGO supported people with disabilities in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.

In 2016, Nasco Feeding Minds with support from Dansk Handicap Forbund Organisation adopted the Tuna Senior High Technical School as a disabled model school and provided special washroom facilities, disability-accessible ramps, and reshaped roads.

The Federation in the region, therefore, sees the recent donation of tricycles, wheelchairs, elbow and armpit crutches as well as white canes as a sign of good days to come should Mr. Banasco Seidu Nuhu be appointed a District Chief Executive.

“I want to, on behalf of the federation, thank Mr. Banasco for doing so well for us because this is not the first time.”

“We know Banasco aspired to become the MP here, and we also know he is aspiring to become the DCE for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District. I wish if the government is listening to me, for the massive support Mr. Banasco has given to people with disabilities in this district and for that matter Savannah Region, I will also appeal, if the President is listening to me, to make Banasco the DCE for this district.”

Mr. Takora Joshua Dramani said the Federation believes if Mr. Banasco is made the DCE, he will do a lot to address issues of disability in the district.

The president is yet to make appointments of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives for his second term.
