Two (2) persons have been electrocuted to death by a high tension pole during a one-week commemoration at Hemang in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region.
Also, two other persons are battling for their lives after they were electrocuted.
The unfortunate incident which occurred on Thursday, September 2, 2021, has thrown residents, family members and friends in shock.
The assembly member for Hemang Ntiribuoho electoral area Hon Kofi Adjei Bosompem who confirmed the unfortunate incident in an interview with Pure Fm’s Osei Kwadwo said “The two deceased and the victims were at the one-week celebration of their colleague when the rain started”.
According to Hon Kofi Bosompem, “They (the victims and deceased) decided to move the canopies after the rain had stopped but the metal poles had contact with the high tension and they were electrocuted in the process of moving the canopies”.
The deceased bodies are currently at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue while the victims are receiving treatment at the same hospital.
