Ghanaian rapper, Flowking Stone has disclosed that he has been fighting over the years for respect to be accorded to rappers who do not reside in Accra.
The Kumasi-based rapper revealed on Kastle FM that over the years, artistes who do not reside in Accra are most often sidelined, adding that there is the need for an ‘all-inclusive’ industry.
“Over the years, that’s all I was fighting for, I was fighting for respect and inclusion of artistes who are not from Accra. Because previously, everything used to be Accra and only artistes from Accra get the pushing to the neglect of other artistes from Cape Coast and Kumasi,” he remarked.
He also dispelled the popular notion that artistes cannot be successful unless they relocate from other regions to Accra.
“Sometimes, if they’re pushing artistes from other regions, it means they have finally moved to go and settle in Accra which I was pushing against that. So right now that people can stay where they are like Kumerica and make hits is a great time in life,” he stated.
