Ghanaian record producer, John Mensah Sarpong has described gospel musician Kwaku Gyasi as a cheat by stating that until he parts ways with his wife, he is not going to work with him again.
According to the JMS Records owner, Kwaku Gyasi’s wife is the orchestrator of the brawl that marred his relationship with the gifted gospel singer.
In an interview on Onua FM, an angry John Mensah accused Kwaku Gyasi’s wife of masterminding their split at a time when everything was going on smoothly between the two.
“We had been working effectively, efficiently, and profitably together for years before Kwaku Gyasi got married. Things between Kwaku Gyasi and I began to deteriorate shortly after our marriage. So there is no doubt that the wife is to blame.
“As long as Kwaku Gyasi is married to the wife. I’m not going to be able to work with him,” he added.
In the same interview, John Mensah revealed that he decided to quit working with Kwaku Gyasi when he pocketed all the MTN ambassadorial money for his music Nyame Aseda.
According to him, he agreed with Kwaku Gyasi on a production split of 30% and 70% for Kwaku Gyasi on all programs. The gospel musician was then chosen as MTN’s ambassador using his (John Mensah)production track Nyame Aseda. He expected him to follow the terms of the agreement. Mr Gyasi, on the other hand, refused to give him his share.
“I was enraged by Kwaku Gyasi’s behaviour because the musician did not follow through on the agreed-upon percentages of 30% and 70%. Mr Gyasi deviously pocketed the entire MTN deal’s proceeds.”
