According to him, the idea limits creativity and eventually becomes dictatorial for some musicians who are not into the Highlife genre.

Speaking in an interview with Jay Foley, Knii Lantey said; “I don’t believe that a country should have one kind of music, it becomes dictatorial.

He said that the Highlife genre is not indigenous in Ghana because it has some of it parts borrowed from Western culture to make it complete just as other genres.

“We borrow from a lot of western music to get Highlife and we will keep borrowing from Jamaican music to get something else and borrow from German music to get another,” he said.

Knii Lantey also stated that as a musician, one has to be dynamic in making songs without any form of restrictions.

Meanwhile, the popular Ghanaian madman now transformed to a fine gentleman, Mona Mobl3 has now added music to his certificate as he prepares to drop his first song titled “Mona Mobl3”.

Born Kofi Ampofo used to be a madman wandering in the streets of Accra. He became popular for his popular catchphrase “Mona Mobl3”.
