Multiple-award-winning artist and 2020 Vodafone Ghana Awards (VGMAs) artist Kuami Eugene has lashed out at media houses and blogs that reported that he was taken for a nobody when he arrived in his hometown of Akim Oda to hold a homecoming concert for his kinsmen.

You could recall it was reported that only 13 people showed up to welcome the Rockstar and his entourage as they touched down at Akim Oda.

Kuami has since refuted the claims that only a handful of people were prsent to welcome him as he shared a video of how his townfolk swarmed the venue for his concert to witness him perform. The concert was packed to capacity and according to Kuami, over 20,000 concert goers showed up to honour him.

He wrote: To Those Blogging And Spreading Lies About Only 13 People showing up, May Sorrows never exit your homes . Shout AMEN 🙏🏾

You could recall that in celebration of the 77th birthday of President Nana Akufo-Addo on March 29, 2021, Mrs Akufo-Addo borrowed a line from Gyakie’s Forever song to declare her undying love for her husband.

She wrote: Many blessings to the President of Ghana @NAkufoAddo First Lady ein heart beats for you.

In an interview with Andy Dosty on the Hitz 103.9 Fm, Gyakie was quizzed about the thoughts that run through her mind when she saw the tweet of the first lady using her lyrics.

Gyakie explained that she was literally surprised and shocked at the same time and it served as a fuel of motivation for her to keep up with her work.
