Popular Ghanaian entertainment pundit, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo has waded into Sarkodie’s response to Edem concerning his inability to pick his calls, citing situations where Sarkodie has been disrespectful, unkind, unfair and arrogant to his fellow artists both locally and internationally.
According to Arnold, there have been other complaints by musicians in Nigeria and Ghana who have complained bitterly about Sarkodie’s inability to pick their calls for business-related issues.
In 2021, Sherifa Gunu in an interview raised the same issue stating that it takes months for Sarkodie to respond to his messages whiles Kwaw Kese also said the same in an interview with Okay FM where he stated that he was disappointed in Sarkodie for refusing to reciprocate the love he showed Sarkodie some years ago.
In 2017, Freddie Meiway in an interview with Doreen Avio said this about Sarkodie’s attitude; “I have this song that I wanted to put Sarkodie on. I sent him the song and it’s more than a year and he didn’t jump on the song.
“Anytime I contact him, it’s all excuse; my wife just delivered a baby girl, I’m with her in America, I would do it don’t worry; today excuse, tomorrow excuse. He’s good but he doesn’t respect at all. He has to change his attitude,”
In 2017, Yemi Alade complained bitterly and expressed displeasure at the conduct of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie.
“I can count three different countries and three different venues where my team and I had an agreement with the artiste [Sarkodie] in particular and he didn’t come through,” she said, speaking as guest on a chat show in Ghana.
“I’ve really tried my best to really not go into details but the long and short on why I don’t want to dwell on this is that is super unfair, unprofessional and unkind for international acts or even artistes to have a dealing with anybody and after agreeing to certain things, you don’t come through at all.”
In Arnold’s assertion, he mentioned that being the most decorated artist in Ghana and being described by artists in Ghana and abroad as disrespectful, unkind, unfair and arrogant is below par for Sarkodie.
According to Arnold, Sarkodie was inconsiderate in his response to Edem’s complaints citing it off the radar.
