France forward, Antoine Griezmann was this morning fazed by boos from some fans of FC Barcelona who gathered at The Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training grounds following the departure of Lionel Messi yesterday as announced by the Catalan club.
In a video going viral on Twitter, a group of Barcelona fans were heard booing Antoine Griezmann on his arrival to first-team training on Friday morning.
Yesterday, August 5, 2021, the La Liga club announced that they were unable to fulfil a new contract that had been agreed with the player due to “financial and structural obstacles”.
In a statement by the club on their official website, it was stated that they would have wished for the player to stay but financial and structural obstacles have made it impossible.
Many Barca supporters are struggling to come to terms with Messi’s shock departure and on Friday morning, a group congregated outside of the club’s Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper training facility to voice their concerns.
Griezmann who has long been targeted by these fans on his arrival at the training ground was greeted with cries of “Messi is leaving because of you”.
