Born into an Islamic home at Konongo in the Asante Akyem North District of the Ashanti region with the name Mohammed Ismail Sherif Frimpong, Black Sherif stated the aggression in his songs is as a result of hunger.
He said hunger makes him angry and when he gets the chance to hit the recording studio to record, he pours his heart out on the song with all the aggression needed having in mind the kind of things he has been through on the streets.
The 19-year-old ‘First Sermon’ hitmaker speaking with Andy Dosty this morning on the ‘Day Break Hitz’ morning show on Hitz FM stated most people have already concluded that he’s a violent person because of the use of machete in the music video of the ‘Second Sermon’ song.
He said not every person living on the streets is violent and the use of the machete in the music video was just an act. He urged people spreading those rumors to quit because he’s not violent in any way.
Black Sherif stated he’s just hungry for success and the anger in him is what he pours on his songs and anyone living on the streets will somehow feel related to his lyrics and the aggression.
