At least six persons including a French national have been arrested over alleged plot to kill the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina.
The suspects have also allegedly plotted to kill several top politicians in the Indian Ocean nation.
Madagascar government officials made the arrests known.
“One of the arrested people is French, two of them are bi-national: Malagasy and French. The three others are Malagasy,” says Rodellys Fanomezantsoa Randrianarison, the public security minister.
