Ghanaian rap act, Michael Owusu Addo, known popularly as Sarkodie has finally apologised to legendary radio and television presenter DJ Abrantee, born Simon Boateng.
The apology comes on the back of Sarkodie leaving the veteran DJ out of invited personalities for his album listening (No Pressure) in London.
Sarkodie inadvertently left the promoter who has been of so much support to his career and this didn’t sit well with the radio presenter who also doubles as events promoter.
During a recent interview on Y102.5FM in Kumasi where had embarked on a media tour ahead of his album release scheduled for July 29, 2021, he rendered the apology asking the DJ to forgive him.
“I’m using this platform to say is sorry to DJ Abrantee. I know he is not mad but he felt some way because I did my listening in London and he wasn’t involved. That listening was organized within 24 hours. I had no idea about all the people present. Personally, I didn’t even call anybody as it was organized by Kojo. I just had to show up. A lot of people felt I deliberately ignored them but that was not it”, he said.
Prior to the apology, he spoke highly of DJ Abrantee and his partner May7ven.
“DJ Abrantee actually organized my 02 Indigo Concert. As much as I believed in myself at the point, he had this believe in me. He asked that I stop doing ‘local’ shows. It was too much for me to bear. I had to believe him and he just saw everything through and made that history so personally, I have this attachment to him. I believe him when he says I should do something.”
