He said the Afrobeats genre of music is now regarded as the identity of the Nigerian people and the Nigerian music industry as they have truly perfected the genre very well.

He added that every artist that does Afrobeats if not well known on the world stage is first considered as a Nigerian because Nigerian artists have been able to sell the genre to the world music market so well.

Dada Hafco stated some big Nigerian artists who formally were not doing Afrobeats music are not switching from their original genre to Afrobeats music because the Nigerian music industry has a deliberate attempt of claiming the Afrobeats genre.

He charged the Ghanaian music industry to follow the style of their Nigerian counterpart by promoting one genre of music which will represent the true identity of Ghanaian music and the Ghanaian people.

The singer, who is currently promoting his new hit song ‘Obarima’ stated that Highlife is the only genre of music that truly represents the Ghanaian people and their culture and the government should be ready to promote it to the world stage.

He added that every artist in the country one way or the other has a trace of the Highlife DNA in their songs as most of the songs composed in Ghana have the originality of the Highlife music in them.
