Renowned Ghanaian musician, Dada Hafco has claimed that every Ghanaian musician, irrespective of the genre the musician does, has a little of highlife in their songs.
The talented highlife musician made this known in a recent interview he had on Hitz FM with Ghanaian media personality, Andy Dosty.

In his submission, he said;
“Identity is very important. Everybody can do what they want to do. But then we need an identity when it comes to sound —Nigerians have taken afrobeats to the world. When you do afrobeats now, you live in the shadows of Nigerians.
We think we know everything. Of course we do. But we overdo it – we are always good in borrowing other people’s culture.
Every Ghanaian musician has a little of highlife in their songs – it’s in our DNA. When you go to South Africa, you think they do not do any other genre? Hip-hop is strong in South Africa but they are also known for Kwaito.
Although Ghanaians may not be paying attention to what I am saying or trying to champion, I can’t stop saying it.”
