In this part of our world, a person who is not coward is described as arrogant and disrespectful, especially when forthright with their thoughts and opinions.

This is why Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo has risen to the defence of Nigerian singer Burna Boy in the face of accusations over his condescending attitude.

Angelique Kidjo says the “Ye” hitmaker does not owe anyone an explanation for his attitude which many deem appalling and haughty.

Speaking in an interview with Smooth FM Lagos, Angelique Kidjo said Burna Boy should be left alone and those who find him offensive should take a chill pill.

“When you’re talented, yes, you have to have humility but that doesn’t mean you’re going to walk on yourself and apologize. For what? I’m good at what I do. You don’t like it? Sorry! If it was an African-American person having that attitude, nobody would say anything.

“That’s my boy mehn! Let him do his stuff. If you don’t like it, sorry for you… You leave my boy alone!” Angelique Kidjo stated.

Burna Boy was under fire yesterday for saying Africa’s Best Rapper is Nasty C from South Africa. He also added that the rapper has what it takes to battle American rappers.

Fans of Sarkodie found the assertion quite erroneous. They intimated that Burna Boy needs to get his facts right if indeed he wants to speak about the rap game in Africa.
