Rufftown Records signed artitse, Wendy Addo, well known as Wendy Shay has said that some of the artistes who won awards from the just ended Vodafone Ghana Awards didn’t deserve the awards they won.

She made this statement during an interview on Zylofon FM with Sammy Flex. According to Wendy Shay, there are two types of artistes in the music industry.
There are the artistes in the industry and the industry artistes. She disclosed that the industry artistes happen to be those who are most loved and tagged as favorite in the industry, thus they didn’t deserve the awards they won in the first place.
Also, there are artistes in the industry who put in all the hard work into their craft but are not recognized by award schemes. She tagged herself as an artistes in the industry.
Wendy Shay further stated that she was aware that she wouldn’t win anything at the VGMA so she didn’t push her fans to vote for her.
As a reminder, Wendy Shay was nominated for the Best Afropop/Afrobeat artiste of the year. Her song “Emergency” featuring Bosom P Yung was also nominated as the Best Afrobeat/Afropop song of the year.
Unfortunately, the “Uber” crooner couldn’t emerge as the winner in any of the categories she was nominated in.
