Accra, July 5, GNA – Mr Delali Agbemasu, a Businessman in the Western Region has urged President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ignore complainants against his National Security Coordinator concerning activities at the ports

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, Mr. Agbemasu said such complaints against Major General Francis Adu Amanfo (rtd), were from persons whose source of ill-gotten wealth from smuggling and other nefarious activities at the ports were affected by Major Adu Manfo’s tough muscle on such activities.

“This is one of the best National Security Coordinators that this country has ever had and his effectiveness is making criminal elements uncomfortable, and so if President Akufo-Addo is keen on fighting illegalities at the ports, then he should ignore complaints against Maj. Adu-Amanfo,” .

Mr Agbemasu who lives in Takoradi revealed that he was aware of meetings that persons affected by the tough security at the ports, were holding to choreograph complaints about the National Security Coordinator.

He added that the most active plotters were those involved in illegal importations and whose goods were seized and auctioned.

He said “taxes are what build nations and so irrespective of one’s political affiliation, if there is a duty bearer who is performing well in office, it is a sacred duty to protect and encourage that office holder.”

He urged President Akufo-Addo to do just that. “I will urge the President to give Major Gen (rtd) Adu Amanfo, the latitude and the assistance to be even more effective at the ports. He should treat any complaint against him as worthless propaganda.”
