Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has expressed that the House will work to pass the Electoral Act amendment bill and the Petroleum Industry Bill before it embarks on its summer vacation by the middle of July.
He stated this in his brief remark on the resumption of plenary after two weeks break.
He expressed that the two legislations were very important to the House hence the need to pass them before the vacation.

He said even though the period was very right for the lawmakers, they will do everything possible to ensure that the bills are passed.
The Speaker however announced that he will be meeting with members of the Adhoc Committee on the PIB to iron out some gray areas in the bill.
He also announced that the Group Managing Director of the NNPC will brief members of the parliament on the PIB on Wednesday.
