The vociferous fans of Glorious Accra Hearts of Oak have vowed never ever to allow Rockstar to perform before their crucial league clash against bitterest rival Kumasi Asante Kotoko this Sunday (June 26) at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The proud sponsors of the league, Adonko Bitters have tasked Kuame Eugene to entertain soccer fans before the commencement of Ghana’s version of El Classico but Hearts fans have vehemently opposed the move on the ground that the A-List artist is a staunch Kotoko fan.
The ringleader of this seeming revolt is the National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP for Ningo-PramPram Sam George who argued in a Twitter post that the club belongs to the fans hence they have the power to determine who performs at their stadium or not.
He tweeted, “Accra Hearts of Oak belongs to the fans. We say we do not want Kwami Eugene to perform at our stadium on Sunday. He can perform at Baba Yara before they leave Kumasi or perform on their team bus but at our Accra Sports Stadium di3r, make them forget kraa. End of discussion.”
However, seasoned journalist Saddick Adams has said the development is worrying because Eugene is an ambassador of the Adonko Next Level Energy drink which is also a sponsor of the Ghana Premier League and for this reason, their position is baseless.
