156 Papaye Workers Receive Awards

One hundred and fifty-six employees of Papaye Fast Foods were awarded at the company’s annual motivational workers’ awards on Wednesday for their hard work and service towards the growth of the company.

The event, which was held at the Papaye Recreational Village at Konkunuru, near Aburi in the Eastern Region, was graced by a number of personalities which include the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mark Okraku Mantey, Nana Otoobour Djan Kwasi ll, Chief of Aburi and a host of others.

It was chaired by Nana Otoobour Djan Kwasi ll who is also the acting president of Akuapim Traditional Council and Adontenhene of Akuapim.

The awards were presented to 156 employees who had served the company meticulously for five (5), fifteen (15), ten (10), twenty (20) and twenty-five (25) years, including best workers from the all the seven branches of the company.

The winners received prizes such as flat-screen television sets, double door fridges, certificates and an unspecified amount of cash.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer, Divine Asiedu, mentioned that the awards scheme was instituted to recognise the immense contribution of staff to the progress of the company.

According to him, the awards are a way to encourage good behaviour, motivate the staff and inculcate competition spirit, adding that this is the reason why the company organises the award ceremonies from time to time.

“Today we gathered here not just to celebrate the achievement of our staff in terms of how long they have worked with the company, but also to give due regard to our corporate values and morals which these awardees exemplify, like discipline, dedication, quality service, team play, commitment and loyalty,” Mr. Asiedu said.

He congratulated award winners and hoped their achievements would serve as an inspiration to all staff in the discharge of their duties at Papaye.

On his part, the Executive Chairman of Papaye, Dr. Samir Kalmoni, said the company’s success has been achieved through the hard work, honesty and loyalty of its staff.

He revealed that his company has won several awards including Best Fast Food Restaurant of the Year, Best Tourism Tax Contributor, CIMG award, and Good Corporate Citizen award, among others.
