Lawan spoke on Wednesday following a point of order moved by the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi.
On Wednesday, Abdullahi had complained that some media reports about the leakage and flooding of the chambers due to a heavy downpour on Tuesday, were full of inaccuracies and therefore impugned the integrity of lawmakers.
Lawan stated that it had earlier met President Muhammadu Buhari, who directed them to look for the money needed for the rehabilitation of the complex.
He also faulted the media, saying some media platforms blew the situation out of proportion.
