Minister of Niger Delta affairs, Godswill Akpabio has revealed that the final report of the forensic audit of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) will be ready by July.
He stated this while responding to questions from State House correspondents after a meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Ibrahim Gambari at the State House on Wednesday.
He maintained that the exercise was started not just to clean up the mess in the NDDC, but to reposition the commission and ensure optimal performance and that much progress on the forensic audit has been made.

He expressed that Nigeria cannot afford a crisis in South-South as recorded in other regions of the country because of its importance to the economic survival of the nation.
Akpabio also noted that he has been meeting with stakeholders in the region as a way of calming tension.
Speaking further, Akpabio recommended that political leaders from other crisis-prone regions do the same to curb restiveness.
