In the Ghana Industry, there have been many situations whereby big artistes have collaborated with upcoming acts on their songs and later those songs became hit.
A typical example is when Sarkodie featured Nautyca in his song “Social media”. It is clear that most people fell in love with the song simply because the all-time favorite rapper was featured on it.
The song trended on all music platforms and it also came out with an amazing video which also garnered a lot of views on YouTube.
It is at the back of this that the manager of Sarkodie, Angel Town has made it clear that the fact that one has a big artiste to collaborate with on a song doesn’t guarantee that the song will automatically become a hit song.
Speaking in a phone interview with Doreen Avio on Hitz FM, Angel Town stated that his artiste, Michael Owusu Addo, well known as Sarkodie is not a magician.
While reacting to claims made by Nautyca that Sarkodie and other Tema A-list artistes do not support upcoming artistes from Tema, Angel Town said that Sarkodie has collaborated on songs that have been major breakthroughs for people but it doesn’t mean they have the power to make any song a hit.
He also said that his refusal to have Sarkodie’s verse on Nautyca’s song wasn’t because he is top-notch but because Nautyca disrespected the brand with his insensitive comments.
