Okomfour Kwadee, born Jerry Anaabaa hails from the northern part of Ghana, Navrongo to be precise but stayed in Santasi, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region all his life. He had his basic education in Kumasi until he went to Navrongo Senior High School for his second cycle education.
Okomfour Kwadee is regarded as one of the founding fathers of the Hiplife genre which was started in Ghana by the legendary Reggie Rockstone in the early 1990s. His rap style and talent made him a very dominate force to reckon with in the rap game back in the 90s and the earlier 2000s.
After reaching at the peak of a successful musical career, his success will hit a standing block when he was faced with a lot of mental health conditions which was triggered as a result of an alleged use of excessive hard drugs.
There were speculations that the rapper was admitted into a rehabilitation center where he was been treated to get back on his feet. Recall his colleague rapper and now turned pastor, Lord Kenya was hit with a lawsuit by his family when he tried to lay a helping hand to him.
Since then, one of the best rappers of all time has been on and off the music scene struggling to make a hit song after felling off for a very long time. Many of his fans rejoiced after GhGossip reported earlier in the year that he has been spotted rehearsing with a band ahead of a big concert he’s about to host.
As he’s celebrating his birthday today, Sarkcess boss Sarkodie has paid his respect to him describing him as someone he took inspiration from growing up as a rapper.
Happy birthday to the legend Okomfo) Kwaadee… God bless you…. You inspired us through this journey
