June 2 (UPI) — An Idaho man collected a $200,000 jackpot from a scratch-off lottery ticket seven years after a different game earned him a $100,000 prize.
Pat Malay, of Weiser, told Idaho Lottery officials that he bought a Ride the Win scratch-off ticket from the Maverik store in Payette and scratched it off in his truck.
“I didn’t really believe it,” Malay said of revealing the $200,000 prize. “You just don’t expect that to really happen, but it did!”
Malay said his win was made all the more unbelievable by the fact that he previously won $100,000 from a Gem State Mega Cashword scratch-off ticket in 2014.
The winner said his latest windfall will go toward paying off bills, and the rest will go into savings.
