Dambai (O/R) May 29, GNA – Krachi East Municipal has launched a 30-day countdown to the 2021 Population and Housing Census night.
Mr Bawa Aminu, the Municipal Census officer, said the Ghana Statistical Service was ready to conduct the first digital census in the country.
He said digitalization and effective training have been integrated to ensure the production of quality data.
Mr Patrick Chartey Jilima, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said Ghana was among the few African countries that conducted a regular census since 1891, according to the United Nations report.
He encouraged the citizenry to collectively support the census officials to make this year’s exercise a very successful one.
Nana Alex Kofi Chikpa, a member of the Municipal census committee, advised participants to put their political affiliations aside from the population and housing Census and work with the nation’s interest.
Nana Chikpa entreated the people to collectively support the exercise to ensure its success.
