Nana Yaw Opoku, popularly known as Junior US was a native of Kumasi who was shot and killed in his apartment in Philadelphia, United States back in 2019 when some unknown gunmen stormed his place.

His death was met with a lot of controversy as many blamed entertainment critic Showboy for been the one behind the hit as the two were in a long and heated feud which even resulted in a physical altercation between the two.

Junior before his death was seen hanging out with a lot of stars both local and international like the likes Meek Mill and among others. He was a very close friend to Shatta Wale as they mostly hang out whenever Shatta was in the US.

But the controversy sparked after Shatta Wale refused to attend the funeral service of his late friend which was held in Krofrom, a suburb of Kumasi later that year. Fans and residence in Krofrom got angry on why Shatta didn’t attend the funeral as he received a lot of backlash.

Recall Shatta Wale last year was not given a warm welcome when he was embarking on his Kumerica project and decided to visit the area where Junior was from to shoot a music video with Amerado.

Reports say a couple of fights broke up between the ‘My Level’ hit maker crew and that of the native of the area as he was chased out by some residence because of his inability to attend the funeral in 2019.

Well to prove his loyalty to his late friend, Shatta Wale paid his tribute to him during his performance last night in New Jersey stating that everyone who knows him know that he really love Junior US.
