Accra, May 21, GNA – The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Mr Samuel Abu Jinapor, Friday called for closer partnership between Ghana and China to curb the illegal mining activities across the country.
He said the two countries must work closely to efficiently regulate the small-scale mining sector.
The Minister made the call when the new Chinese Ambassador to Ghana, Mr Lu Kun, paid a Courtesy call on him at the Ministry in Accra.
Mr Jinapor said Ghana would continue to work with the Chinese Government for greater development for their respective citizens.
Mr Lu Kun, on his part, recounted the bilateral relations between Ghana and China and said it had blossom and enjoyed a sound momentum of development over the past 60 years.
Ghana and China relations have been enhanced since they established diplomatic ties in the 1960s.
