The Acheampem Hene of Koforidua-Asokore in the Eastern Region, Nana Adomaa Kyirekuaa I has paid a courtesy visit to the Asokore Community Clinic and Christian Village orphanage Home at Akwadum.

Her visit accompanied a donation from her establishment, Blessed Hands Foundation for Needy Mothers on Tuesday, May 18, 2021.

Items donated to the Asokore Community Clinic include Nightgowns and bathrobes, slippers, breast pads, Socks, underwear, toiletries, sets of court sheets, maternity pads, Nursing Bra among other childbirth materials.

Presenting the items to the maternity department of the Asokore Community Clinic, Nana Adomaa Kyirekuaa I enunciated that, her foundation seeks to help needy mothers and the plight of the less privileged and for such course, they are donating childbirth items to ensure that women who come to deliver at the centre will have adequate items for safe delivery.

She gave an account that her foundation will see to it that all necessary logistics needed at the department for smooth servicing will be delivered as time elapses.

“My mother was a birth coach and I had witnessed how some women found it difficult to provide for themselves childbirth materials. Growing up, I said to myself that I will help the maternity ward in my municipality and I thank God that the good time has come for me to fulfill my childhood promises.” She gave an account.

Receiving the items was the senior midwife of the Asokore Community Clinic, Mrs Agyemang Prempeh who had praised Nana Adomaa Kyirekuaa I and her foundation for such a philanthropic gesture.

In her acceptance speech, Mrs Aggemang Prempeh had outlined the setbacks of the maternity department where she had appealed for a modern maternity block.

“We are very grateful for your gesture. God bless you Nana for championing this course. Our department is facing lots of challenges especially when women come here for delivery. Some even come with inadequate childbirth materials and since we don’t have enough, we find it difficult to provide for them. More also, we plead to your organization to help reconstruct our maternity ward. This is an old building and we struggle to get enough space to accommodate wards. Thank you and we believe you will ones again come to our aid”. She had said.

Giving her final remarks, Nana Adomaa Kyirekuaa I promised to build a new maternity ward for the Asokore Community Clinic. Saying ” the welfare of women is my main agenda and I will do everything within my ability to create a calm environment for them during childbirth. I will come back with my foundation to start the construction of a modern maternity ward” she added.

At Akwadum Christian Village Orphanage Home, Nana Adomaa Kyirekuaa I and the Blessed Hands Foundation for Needy Mothers have donated items such as bags of rice, bags of beans, cartons of milo and milk, boxes of biscuits and oats, clothes among other things.

She had explained that the donation forms part of the foundation’s corporate social responsibility projects, saying “we hope our donation will have a positive influence on the operation of the orphanage home and the lives of these kids”.

She also complimented the administration of the Home for their devotion, hard work, and commitment to keeping the Home and kids.
