Ghanaians have reacted after the former skipper of the Black Stars, Stephen Appiah left out Asamoah Gyan from his list of Top 5 players who have played for the national team.

This was a response from “Tornado” to a post made by Betway on Twitter where they were asking random people to suggest their Top 5 Black Stars players.

Stephen Appiah who played with Assmopah Gyan at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa where Asamoah Gyan’s infamous penalty kick shattered the hearts of Ghanaians, did not hesitate to drop his list.

In his list of Top 5 Black Stars players, Stephen Appiah mentions:

  1. Stephen Appiah
  2. Abedi Pele
  3. Tony Yeboah
  4. Michael Essien
  5. Richard Kingson

This list by Stephen Appiah where Ghana’s top goalscorer of all-time Asamoah Gyan’s name has been excluded has raised some eyebrows.

Many believe the choice of Stephen Appiah was influenced by the last-minute penalty miss by Asamoah Gyan at the World Cup coupled with how the captaincy was stripped off him and immediately passed on to Gyan.

Well, those are the thoughts of Ghanaians expressed below:

What’s your take?
