Akuapem Poloo went through the worst moments in her life after she was convicted by the court for posting her [email protected] photo on social media along with her son.
She was facing three charges namely, the publication of obscene materials, domestic violence which undermines the integrity of her son, and detracting his dignity as well.
She was sentenced to 90 days imprisonment by the court which many Ghanaians opposed and pleaded for a lenient punishment since she is a first-time offender.
Her lawyer, Andrew Kudzo Vortia filed an appeal, describing the actress’s sentence as a harsh one, pleading for a lenient one to be meted out to her.
In reaction to that, Christiana Awuni said Akuapem Poloo’s sentence made her realize that the posting of nudity on social media was a crime.
She also added that Akuapem Poloo’s 90-days jail sentence came as a total shock to her because to her going naked is morally wrong but not a crime that should attract such punishment.
Speaking with Zionfelix on the ‘Uncut show’, Christiana Awuni said she always thought one has the right to do whatever he/she wants with their bodies including posting on social media until Akuapem Poloo was sentenced, only then she realized that the laws of the land frowns on the such acts.
