He is quite a type to describe as a star when it comes to Ghanaian music. But, this isn’t accurate to the manager of UK-based Ghanaian gospel musician, Sonnie Badu.
According to Uncle Winfred, the “Things fall apart” hitmaker isn’t the star people perceive of him. He said that his songs are now one-way just like Bisa Kdei and there is no need for change.
Speaking in an interview, Uncle Winfred said Kofi Kinaata is only known for his one-way popular songs but when it comes to stardom, the singer cannot be considered.
He said that unlike Sarkodie and Shatta Wale who have worked so hard to project their crafts and protect their brands even in the international market, Kofi Kinaata has done nothing of that sort for himself and his brand.
“It takes how you brand yourself, it takes how you project yourself outside. Do you see how Sarkodie projects himself? If Sarkodie comes here and Kofi Kinaata also comes, who will have the masses following him? Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have the attitude, they’ve branded themselves but Kofi Kinaata hasn’t done the same”, Uncle Winfred said.
As a reminder, Kofi Kinaata is one of the best songwriters in the music industry. He is also known to be the Fante rap God and has earned his placed in the hearts of his loyal fans for years.
