Thomas Partey featured in Atletico Madrid’s narrow defeat at the hands of La Liga title rivals Barcelona on Sunday afternoon.
The Ghanaian international, who penned a new deal in midweek, lasted the entire duration and produced a great performance but it was not enough as his side were beaten at the Nou Camp.
He played in two different positions. First in his usual midfield before tactical switch by coach Simeone pushed him to right back spot.
A first-half fine strike by Lionel Messi, his 600th career for club and country, settled the feisty clash in Barca’s favour.
Partey’s side are now eight points adrift top of the table following the defeat.
