Nominees for Artiste of the Year
We’ve finally seen the full list of nominees for the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and this year’s edition looks much more exciting because of the inclusion of the dancehall king, Shatta Wale.
This year’s edition sees 5 top musicians competing in the race for the artiste of the year.
The Musiga President, Obour when giving his speech disclosed that, this year’s edition would see only 5 top musicians from last year make it to the artiste of the year.
Shatta Wale makes it into the list after being out for 3 years. The reigning artiste of the year, Joe Mettle who won last year as the first Gospel musician to ever win in that category makes a come back again in this year’s edition.
It’s almost like there can’t be a VGMA without Sarkodie in the artiste of the year and he proves it again as he lands a spot in the top 5.
Shatta’s rival, Stonebwoy also makes it in the artiste of the year and it’s going to be a really tough race.
Then we have Ebony whom many industry persons started rooting for to be in that category and even subsequently go ahead and win but death’s cold hands snatched her from us to live to see this day but death couldn’t rob her of being nominated in the most prestigious music award in Ghana.
