Dar es Salaam — National middleweight kickboxing champion Ali “Van Dame” Mohamed is seeking a date against the African Champion, Kanda Kabongo, of the DR Congo. Speaking with The Citizen, Mohamed said it is high time he rose his bar by taking on the acclaimed fighters, citing the Congolese as one of them.

“Kabongo is physically fit and I admire his fighting skills. He is technically sound, but I would relish a date with him to accomplish my ambition of conquering Africa,” the boxer said. The hard-hitting kick-boxer said he had already informed his promoter Japhet Kaseba to organise a bout against the African champion.

“My promoter inquired about the possibility of staging a bout against Kabongo, but they have yet to respond seriously. “I’m ready to face anyone right now although the one I prefer most is Kabongo,” he stressed.
