Mimiko inaugurates N235m market

    AKURE—THE Isinkan Caring Heart Neighbour-hood Market, phase 11, built at a cost of N235 million, was yesterday inaugurated by Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko with an assurance that all ongoing projects would be completed.

    Built through direct labour, the phases 1 and 11 of the market have 492 open and lock up shops with facilities such as toilets, police post, fire station, canteen, clinic, reclamation of two hectares of land, building of asphalt-laid access road and a crèche.

    A cheque of N26 million was equally distributed as soft loans to various associations in the market by the state’s Micro Credit Agency, to enable traders to have access to funds that would boost the businesses.

    Dr. Mimiko speaking at the ceremony said his administration adopted the construction of modern markets as a pivot for inner city renewal.

    In another development, the governor has equally sworn in three additional Commissioner and they include Hon Sule Niran Akinsuyi Special duties, Mr. Bade Omoloja Lands and Housing and Mr. Bekekime Idhiarhi, Multi Lateral.

    The governor said that their choice was strategic and urged them to reciprocate government’s good gesture extended to them by being hardworking.
