After five trophy-less seasons Tomas Rosicky is determined to “achieve something” with Arsenal and has no intention of leaving the Emirates following reports of a depature.

The Czech international has vowed to challenge for his place and is desperate to win trophies with the club after pledging his allegiance to manager Arsene Wenger.

Rosicky has one year left on his contract and it was speculated that Wenger would be willing to offload the midfielder after a troublesome season due to injury and illness, but that could soon be over after the Czech had an operation to remove his tonsils which were believed to be the cause of numerous viral infections.

He told Czech website iDNES.cz: “I don’t want to go somewhere where I would have it easier and where even the ordinary life would be easier for me.

“I want to achieve something with Arsenal.

“On Monday, I am starting pre-season with Arsenal.

“Before vacation I was speaking with coach Wenger and he told me he counted on my services and that there was no intention of selling me.”

Fellow midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri, as well as defender Gael Clichy, are subject to moves away from the club, with the Spaniard being tipped to return to former club Barcelona.

But the 30-year-old hopes that his “mate” will stay at the club, though he wouldn’t admit to whether or not the Spaniard would be leaving in a £35 million deal this summer.

He added: “I was talking to him on the phone recently, but I don’t know.

    “Even if I knew, I wouldn’t tell.

“I would like to see him stay because he is a good mate as well as an excellent football player.”
