Napoli striker Edinson Cavani will not be leaving for Manchester United as his Italian representative Claudio Anellucci counters claims over a Premier League transfer.
The 24-year-old was recently said to be worth “over €100 million £90m” by his club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who moved to end all talk over a move.
But reports have continued to link Cavani with a move away from Naples, with United said to be keen.
However, Anellucci feels the hyperbole surrounding his client’s future is little more than paper talk.
“This is the time of year when it is normal to hear talk of transfers to big clubs for astronomical fees,” Claudio Anellucci told Radio Sportiva.
“The majority of the time there is nothing to them, as is the case with regards to a possible move to Manchester United for Edinson.”
Cavani was a sensation in his maiden season for Napoli, scoring 26 goals in 35 Serie A appearances.
He is tied to the club for the next five years following a recent contract extension.
