Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has ruled out moving to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.

The forward is believed to be looking for a move away from Eastlands after finding himself surplus to requirements under current manager Roberto Mancini.

The 27-year-old admitted that whilst he is pleased the French club are showing an interest in him, he does not want to go there.

He also expressed an ambition to move to a side competing for trophies because of the cup-winning exploits during his loan spell at Real Madrid last season.

“I say thank you to PSG for thinking of me. But, for all the respect I owe them, I will not go there,” he was quoted as saying by The Sun.

“At Real, I got a taste for what it’s like winning a trophy. I can only go where we play to win trophies.”

Adebayor joined Manchester City from Arsenal for an estimated £25 million two years ago when the Blues were managed by Mark Hughes.

He was at the centre of controversy when he scored at Eastlands against the Gunners during his first season with the club, running the length of the field to celebrate in front of his former fans.

Paris Saint-Germain have recently hired Leonardo as sporting director, and the club are now looking to make further signings following the arrival of France international Kevin Gameiro from Lorient earlier this month.
