Chelsea have been told they can have Galatasaray midfielder Arda Turan for just £7 million – but would need to include Didier Drogba in the deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues are pursuing the 24-year-old Turkey international on the recommendation of Guus Hiddink, the player’s national team coach and one-time candidate for the manager’s job at Stamford Bridge, and have been informed that Galatasaray’s asking price is around £18m.

But while new boss Andre Villas-Boas is reportedly open to offers for Drogba, Chelsea are likely to reject the proposed deal because it undervalues the big Ivorian at just £11m.

It had been widely assumed that Drogba would depart this summer after the £50m arrival of Fernando Torres from Liverpool last January, and the possible arrival of Colombian striker Falcao from Porto combined with the return of Daniel Sturridge from loan at Bolton is likely to push the 33-year-old closer to the exit door.

Drogba himself is believed to be considering his options, but is reportedly waiting to see whether Chelsea sign another big-name striker before making a firm decision on his future.
