AFC Leopards have signed three players in the KPL mini-transfer window.

Strikers Francis Chinjili and Jimmy Bagaye and midfielder Charles Okwemba have all agreed contracts with the former league giants according to reliable sources at the club.

While the two forwards will be playing for Leopards for the first time, Okwemba played for the club from 2006 to last year when he moved to Posta Rangers now Rangers.

Chinjili, 28, a former Harambee Stars striker has spent this season at Western Stima after leaving Sofapaka. Prior to moving to the former league champions, Chinjili had played for Mahakama.

At Stima he has turned out to be a lethal player. He finished among the top five scorers last season. He was largely responsible in seeing his club eliminate Tusker and Sofapaka from the Top 8 tournament.

He moved to Stima to cover up for Brian Masiolo who moved to Leopards at the start of season but is yet to make a mark. Bagaye, a Ugandan who has been at Nairobi City Stars for over four years has been the team’s top scorer in the last two seasons.

Meanwhile KPL have confirmed seven players were officially transferred yesterday.The mini-transfer window runs from June 1 to 30 and the first club to complete the exercise was Congo United according to KPL. The only player Congo have enlisted from The Kenyan Premier League is forward Kevin’Keagan” Ngugi formally of Chemelil.The rest of the acquisitions are Mohammed Bazenga (Admiral Youth group ), Mohammed Mwachindoni (Kilifi Stars), Farid Mohammed (Admiral Youth), Salim Khamis (Admiral Youth) and Ben Barasa (Bungoma United). A Nigerian, Frank Nwonjo has also been signed by Congo United.

At the same time the dropping of seven players by Congo was also approved by the KPL following the club’s agreement to pay them all their outstanding dues.
