Manchester United have reportedly signed Anderlecht’s 16 year-old playmaker Adnan Januzaj for a fee in the region of £550,000.

The youngster who has been dubbed as the ‘next David Beckham’ in Belgium will sign a four-year contract at Old Trafford according in the Daily Mail, however the fee being spoken about will only be a compensation package.

The midfielder has been linked with clubs such as Aston Villa and Lille over the last few months, but the Daily Mail understand United saw an opportunity and took it.

Januzaj will join an already strong contingent of Belgians at United who already have Marnick Vermijl who signed from Standard Liege during the summer, Charni Ekangamene who arrived a year ago from Royal Antwerp, whilst Ritchie De Laet, who is on-loan at Portsmouth, joined from Stoke City in 2008.

The Daily Mail also believe that United will be given permission to talk to Schalke goalkeeper Manuel Neuer if they submit an “acceptable” written bid.
