Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will on Sunday in Cotonou take on their Benin Republic counterparts in a warm-up match ahead of their AYC qualifier in South Africa.
The Nigeria’s U20s will leave their training base in Ilorin on Saturday for Cotonou.
The Media Officer of the team, Samm Audu said: “And after the match in Benin, they will return to Lagos from where they will fly out to South Africa early next week.”
Benin are also in the reckoning for a place at the 2013 AYC as they face Senegal in a second round qualifier after they eliminated Cote d’Ivoire 3-0 on aggregate in the previous round.
The match against the Amajita of South Africa is fixed for next week Saturday 7.30 pm local time (6.30 pm Nigerian time) in Nelspruit, which is about two hours by road from Johannesburg.
The overall winners of the clash will qualify for the 2013 African Youth championship to be staged by Algeria in March.
The Flying Eagles are the defending champions.
